Painter, sculptor and graphic artist - figure paintings, portraits and landscapes in clear, simple forms, close to the New Objectivity, as a sculptor works in bronze and terracotta, also active as a fresco artist. 1921-1926 studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts with F.Cizek, A.Böhm, F.Mallina, A.Schufinsky, A.v.Kenner and B. Löffler. Receives a Czech travel grant in 1927 and travels through Italy (Rome, Florence, Naples, Palermo), 1927-1938 member of the Hagenbund, 1926 visit to Paris, 1929 trip to Budapest, Belgrade, Athens and Salonica. 1933 marriage to an American and trip to the USA with participation in exhibitions, 1935 collectives in the Boyer Gallery in Philadelphia and the Weyhe Gallery in New York and further visits to the USA. Meets Moscow in 1936. 1939 shared studio in Vienna with K. Stemolak for a short time. 1941 Called up for military service, ordered to Greece, serious illness and death there. His works are in the collections of significant museums, including the Austrian Belvedere Museum, Albertina Museum and Vienna Museum.
