The German landscape painter, etcher and graphic artist Moritz Bernhard Pretzsch from Friedenau (today part of the Berlin District Tempelhof-Schöneberg) studied with Hans Licht and Karl Holleck-Weithmann in Berlin. Among other things, he was represented in the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1923. He was active in the Deutscher Künstlerbund Weimar, the Verband Deutscher Illustratoren im Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands and the Thüringer Ausstellerverband bildender Künstler. Pretzsch spent the last years of his life in Alt-Ruppin in the Prignitz region.
